We recommend that all indoor cats receive and stay up to date on the Rabies and FVRCP vaccines. This will keep them safe if they happen to escape outside or go to a boarding or grooming facility. It will also help to keep them from being quarantined if they bite someone.
According to the AVMA Principles of Veterinary Medical Ethics, it is unethical, and in most states, unlawful, for a veterinarian to write a prescription or dispense a prescription drug outside a Veterinarian-Client-Patient relationship. In order to maintain this relationship, a veterinarian must see your pet at least once per year.
An annual examination will also help detect any health issues that may be developing that could otherwise go unnoticed.
