Dr Terri Wagner knew from her earliest memories that she wanted to be a veterinarian. After  being told by a relative that “girls aren’t smart enough for vet school,” she obtained a degree in  Psychology. However, the world of animals continued to call to her, and she successfully  applied to the Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 1991.

Dr Wagner began her career in a busy inner-city emergency hospital in Houston. She moved to Austin in 1994, first as a manager and then as an owner of one of the first Austin veterinary ERs. After giving up ER work, Dr. Wagner began looking for a daytime practice, finding Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital in 2003; and she has been here ever since.

Dr Wagner’s special area of interest is caring for and managing our older patients, especially in terms of quality of life. She and her husband are empty nesters, and in her free time, she can  be found traveling to remote corners of the world.
