Our in-house diagnostics help us deliver timely, compassionate care tailored to your cat’s needs. With advanced equipment and years of feline-focused clinical experience, our Austin veterinary team can quickly evaluate your cat’s health and guide next steps, all in a calm, cat-friendly environment.

Radiology
Spicewood Springs Cat Hospital is equipped with a full digital x-ray machine, allowing us to capture radiographic images in seconds. Images can also be emailed or reviewed off-site by a radiologist when needed. We have a dedicated dental x-ray unit as well, ideal for detailed imaging of feline jaws, teeth, and digits.
Blood Analysis
Our in-house blood analyzer allows us to run tests such as complete blood counts, chemistry profiles, and electrolytes, with results available in about 15 minutes. These tools help us catch subtle changes in feline health early — even before symptoms appear. Other tests we can run in-house include fecal exams, heartworm testing, microscopic cytology, feline leukemia & FIV screening, electrocardiograms (EKGs), blood pressure, urinalysis, clotting function tests, and tonometry for glaucoma screening.

Ultrasound
We offer in-house ultrasound for cats to help evaluate internal organs, identify abnormalities, and guide treatment plans. This non-invasive imaging tool is especially helpful for diagnosing conditions involving the abdomen, chest, or bladder. If more advanced feline ultrasound imaging is needed, we utilize the services of a board-certified radiologist.
Other Diagnostic Tests
For additional tests not performed in-house, we partner with trusted specialty laboratories. Samples are picked up from our clinic daily to ensure timely results and continuity of care for your cat.
